So...80hp in UK. Metric horses are different.

As Fummins has already pointed out, the newly updated Mirage in the UK appears unchanged mechanically. Different units of measurement create slightly different numbers for the same thing.

"A metric horsepower is the equivalent of 0.986 horsepower – this is why the Volkswagen Golf R is advertised with 300PS but only has 296hp. Equally, 300PS sounds better than 296hp simply because it’s a bigger number."

Using that logic, 80 sounds better than 78!!!

Ohhh. I though HP was the same throughout the world. It makes sense now as most of it was from Youtube vids and articles about the UK releases. Oh well!

It was needed for the new front bumper cover haha.

    I'm digging those wheels.

I really think the new design is eye catching. Guess we'll see when it comes out in the US. I'd absolutely love if they offered the higher tier car with a choice of manual or automatic again like they used to but that's wishful thinking.

Looking @ the car trends of the U.S. market, they would be more inclined to drop the manual transmission for all trim levels before that would happen.

Australia only has two trim levels (ES manual, ES CVT, and LS CVT). I am the opposite of you (not saying there's anything wrong with your view). I wouldn't be interested in a Mirage loaded with lots of extra features. It's already become a car I probably wouldn't buy new any more. I don't want to pay a lot of money for a small basic economy car. I value small cars that are affordable, reliable, and economical. I am not willing to compromise on the affordable part.

I like affordable too but if I can get a bunch of extra stuff for a grand or something I'm down for that versus the base model.

Speaking of, I saw a used 2017 SE with a manual for sale on Facebook marketplace. I want it but they'd have to heavily discount it and also give me decent money for little red and the black one or something hahaha.

If you like a manual & features, the 2017 SE is sort of the lone choice. I noticed this one in our area recently.

Two new paint colors, silver and yellow, are available without extra charge on the LS or cost $740 on the ES.

Sometimes I wonder what it's like to be in a Mitsubishi marketing meeting. I'm imagining all of the geniuses sitting around brainstorming great ideas...like manual transmission on base model Miragess only. But a $740 optional paint color on a base model Mirage? That's a winner. Give that guy the "employee of the month" parking spot! What the $#&@!!!
