Thread: Mirage pickup truck

Yeah then they talked about how you can’t break the side windows, then broke 2 in a row lol. I’ve thrown brake rotors, drums, you name it at windows and never had them brake on the first try. Laminated side glass has been around for a while, I first noticed it on a rollover Durango where the side curtain bags deployed. I’m not sure why they had laminated glass, reduce noise or help prevent Broken glass and body parts flying around the car during an accident?

    Maybe both/all three?

In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic "spider web" cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass.
Says it can also block UV rays.

I saw this the other day and it reminded me of these people in Michigan that chopped up old Mercedes to turn them into pickups

I remember a guy used to come to my old work all the time with a red firefly or metro the the back hacked off like that. I think it only had plywood for the back panel and a piece of plexiglass for the window lol. I think the guy might be a driver for the company I work for now at one of the other branches(driving one of the company's cars).

Guess you've never tossed a chunk of broken spark plus porcelain at a window lol immediately shatters.

I think the design looks badass. Id feel like Decker from Blade Runner jumping out of that thing. I could fit a whole colony of replicants in that back bed.

Yep, Geo Prism were dependable cars, & it was a Corolla clone.

Pontiac Vibe was a nice clone of the former Toyota Matrix, too.

Suzuki made vehicles like the Sidekick/Tracker for GM.

There are probably others, but these were some of the more popular joint ventures.

I wish Suzuki would do a joint venture with Toyota, & bring some of their vehicles back here that way.

That would interest me more than the BMW & Subaru vehicles Toyota is now selling.
