I just drained the fuel from a 17' Mirage that's been sitting around for a few months now. Stupid car wouldn't start. Fuel doesn't smell too fresh. It had 1/2 tank, I jumped the pump under the seat(large pink wire).I disconnected the fuel line from the rail and ran a hose to a drain pan. I watched the fuel gauge and stopped the second the last bar stopped flashing. Then pumped the remainder into a jug so I could measure how much "usable fuel" would remain once the last bar is gone and the entire gauge starts flashing. It isn't much. I only got 2 1/2 Liters(.66us gallons) from the tank before it stopped pumping. Car was on level ground.

That's good info. I don't trust the gauge in this CVT I picked up. It has stranded me twice with 1 bar still showing. My old ES5MT could go 30ish miles on no bars left. Talk about a difference...

I don't trust mine as far as I can throw it. I'll drive home with one bar left and 80 km on the dte. Start it the next morning and it's flashing with zero miles til empty. I made it to and from work with the last bar flashing(40km round trip). I try to fill as soon as the last bar starts flashing as habit.

I filled up black car this morning. Took 31.331 liters, I stopped after 2 clicks. Last bar and entire gauge were flashing. It showed 50km til empty.
Got 41mpg this fill up. That's almost 4mpg better than I got 1 year ago, almost to the date in the white car. White paint must have more drag. Because science.

White paint reflects a lot more wavelengths of light, and there's a lot more paint on the front of the car than the back. Lots more light to push out of the way. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

^ FYI: that's why we get slightly worse fuel economy with the headlights on, unless you're driving backwards.
Also: I agree about the werewolves.
