So you can remove/replace a Mirage front seat without disconnecting the battery?
You just need to make sure all the airbag connectors have been reconnected before you key-on.

Exactly! Just keep the key off when messing with airbags or anything to do with them and you'll be fine.

You do, otherwise you will get an airbag code which can't be cleared by your average code reader.

Edit: Guess I was wrong. On a side note, body shops usually have the equipment to clear airbag codes as they deal with them when they fix vehicles with collision damage. Probably cheaper than having a dealer clear it.

Took my mirage back to the shop I got the work on, explained the problem. They took the seat off, pulled out the cable which was definitely not easy to find with the angles given when the seat was in, plugged it back in, and cleared the code with a reader they had. I drove off without issues. No more red light for airbag, no more fear of my chest getting a hole blown through it since I sit close... all in all, not a bad day.

Thank all of you for your posts.

That's good news. Thanks for updating this.

So now that's over, what's next for your Mirage?

What kinda sound deadening did you have installed? I'm considering some kind of insulation for the floor, my feet freeze on my commute. All that's there is the thin tin floor and crappy thin carpet that looks like it's from the trunk of an early 90's ford taurus or tempo.
