Today's Civics & Corollas are larger than the old Accords & Camrys. If you like sedans, they are nice cars. I miss the smaller Civics. My uncle had one of 1st model 2-cylinder Hondas that appeared in the States. My first car was a Honda Civic Wagon (63 hp). The growth of the models has created the need of smaller models like the Fit & HR-V.
I totally agree the Civic feels huge and is almost the same size of older Accords. i wanted a fit but it was not available in my area with a manual white/silver.

In the case of the Honda Fit, it's a bit impressive that Honda is getting 130 hp out of a non-turbo 1.5 L engine. To put that in perspective - My first car a 1978 Honda Civic Wagon had a 1.5 L CVCC engine that cranked out 63 hp.

I really don't feel the Mirage is underpowered, because I've owned several cars with less hp. My first car is just one example.

I'm sure the new Civic is very nice! It takes even more to impress Scotty Kilmer, and he is impressed by them!

Nice ride. Being you're in LA I'd probably spring for at least a civic sized car/power. I don't think I'd want to drive a mirage in LA traffic and the speeds they travel out there not to mention the higher likelyhood of an accident out there. I lived out there for about 7yrs and recently visited and it's so much worse now than the early to mid 2,000s

Edit. Is LA los Angeles or Louisiana? Lol

No way I'd want my mirage for Los angeles traffic. I used to commute from HB to LB and sometimes all the way to Culver city all along the 405. The noise alone in the mirage would be stressful out there.

I agree, the mirage is quite loud but I did it with a 14DE and a 17 G4.

    Congrats!!

I've owned 2 Civics: '85 bread van style stripper manual, and an '07 plain jane sedan manual. Both were very enjoyable in different ways. Both were shockingly good on gas when driven carefully.

The '07 was probably the most "grown-up" car I've ever owned.

I bought it a few years back as a "winter beater" (ironic, considering it was nicer than the summer car). Of course I modified it for better efficiency and it and averaged 48 mpg US / 4.9 L/100 km over the 3000 km I drove it. [ 15 mods = 15% MPG improvement: A-B test, 2007 Honda Civic 1.8L, 5-speed ]. I sold it for a small profit the next spring.

    I'm sure you'll love it.

I've owned a '79 Civic 1200, a '98 Civic coupe, a '98 Civic sedan, a '98 Prelude SH, and a 2000 Civic DX Hatchback. My wife owned two CRXs and a '90 Civic hatchback. Honda makes great cars.

A friend of mine had a 98-2000 aged prelude sh too and I always recall it was really high revving on the freeway. I always think it was at least as high revving as the mirage on the freeway? Was it
