Unrelated but do your work cars have heated side mirrors?
    -Karl B. No Mirages currently...

No heated mirrors on our cars. They're all 15,17 and 19' es plus'. The 19's might, I'll have to run the vin one day and double check. My 14' se does though.

Car was on a 40mph road, don't know how fast truck that hit it was going. Probably not fast but with 3/4 ton vs car, the car would have stopped dead in it's tracks and absorbed the truck. Knee and wheel bags went off. The battery was pushed into the master cylinder and broke it off. The booster is pushed into the firewall.
And of course, it looks like the seat was pushed far enough forward that I can't even get in the thing. So the driver is pretty sore, especially the shins.

The only good I can see the leg airbag doing is to try and push your legs back away from the wheel well so your feet don't get pinched when the floor buckles like a pop can.

That pic gives a great view of the Hitachi battery.
So for future reference: if you can read Hitachi on the battery from outside your mirage, its probably pretty bad.

The inner fender is crumpled and torn, the firewall is probably squished in a bit too, the battery and tray pushed right into the master/booster. It's hard to say if the front door was okay before being opened into the fender, I can't fault anyone for that though.

I do cringe a bit while watching the fire department cause unnecessary damage to cars. Instead of pulling the hood release cable they just took a crowbar to the hood. destroying the upper tie bar, bumper cover, hood, intake manifold, radiator. Then cut both battery cables

Firefighters dont open their personal cars door to enter, they just smash the window and climb in. Quicker, more efficient.

Send me that front quarter panel. I'm a pro at paintless dent repair, and alll I use is wooden kitchen utensils.
