I got my 2018 new at the end of last year/beginning of this year...about a year ago. I sort of got stuck once, but was able to rock it out. I may have shoveled a little bit around it, but I think I just rocked it back and forth for a minute or 2 and got out. I was pretty impressed overall, but obviously, spinning 165's on snow isn't like a snowmobile. I have since lowered with Eibach springs and a few days ago I installed Dunlop Winter Maxx tires. I'm not impressed with the tires yet, but it's only been a couple of days, maybe they have to break in...

Of course something with awd, or better yet 4x4 and more clearance would be better. Winter tires are a huge improvement. Of note, winter tires seem to be divided into those that are better in deep snow (aggressive treads), or better on clear ice (slicker, soft ribber with sipes - like a broomball shoe), so get the ones that suit your local conditions. Compared to a 2wd truck or van, I would much rather have a small front drive car.

Sorry to say it but you won't be beyond impressed with them. Better than an All Season but certainly not an outstanding winter tire.

I had a Chevy s-10 1999 that i would need coworkers to help push me out of the slanted parking lot at work. Yup it would get stuck due to the slant. Mirage gets out every time. HA HA. On really bad days i drive the VUE 2005 since i dont want to get the Mirage smashed up.

Mitsubishi's have a reputation for being good in snow. My old coworker asked me if my Mirage is AWD. The Mirage does have more tech for traction etc. than any 90s car, so it depends on what shoes you're wearing on the car front. For me my Mirage purchase back in April 2014 was a huge upgrade from my old ford escort wagon.

I have owned my Mirage almost 6 years now. I live near Flint, well near Port Huron/Sarnia, and I was in Flint going to Lansing just this past summer. So Tommyskillz, the Mirage is 7/10 in the winter. Has advantages of traction control etc. that new cars all have, but also light that it can drive on top of the snow.

I have had orig Dunlops, and now wearing out Bridgestones, both all seasons ,all seasons, on my Mirage. And I am sure there are better cars in the snow, but some people say heavier cars are good for plowing through the heavy wet stuff, others prefer light cars that can drive on top of snow.

I want to try the Vdredstein Quatrac winter tires if I can find them, and possibily the Pirelli 14 inchers. There's another with the Nordman brand.
