    Accident #2

Earlier this year, I had the side to side accident with a Ford Edge. Last night, coming home from the grocery store I was in the middle of a three lane and saw a Dodge Journey with the lights off (it was dark) coming in pretty fast behind me. The light had just changed and the vehicle in front of me was starting to go. I realized in that instant that even if I accelerated, at the rate he was going it would most likely have pushed me into the car in front of me. Instead, I hit the brakes a couple of times quick...I have this dealer installed flash thing on the high mount light...and then curse and relaxed as best I could. I don't know if the brake pump slowed him or not but he probably hit me going 15 or so (I'm bad at guessing speeds). No injuries, I feel fine. But there's the dreaded...."How's my car???" See for yourself.

*edit-I have no clue how to make my pic right side up!!*

Essentially the bumper cracked in about 4-5 places (included the one long crack just under the decklid). Everything is functional as normal. Drove home fine. And technically this is accident #3 as I backed into a utility pole with the right rear bumper. It popped out on that corner, and I popped it right back in. This poor car!! But I'm truly impressed with these minor accidents. Sometimes they turn out not so minor. Especially if your car has sensors of any sorts in the bumper. Glad my G4 doesn't. This is truly a rough and tumble little car!!

That sucks! Look closely at your 1/4 panels along the side and up around the back glass for kinks. Open the back doors and look around the door frame for broken paint or anything that doesn't look right. Do all the doors close like they should?

Hmmm... New rear bumper cover painted and installed. My seat of the pants estimate is $850...as long as nothing other than the bumper cover is involved.

Definitely get it looked at to make sure there isn't any other damage.

    That bites.

Glad there were no injuries. What the heck was the driver behind you doing?? Did they say anything?
