Thread: Canadian key cloning

  1. #11
I was thinking just buy something like this, Attachment 16418that’ll get you 1/3 of the way there. Still need the transponder fob piece, then have to program it.

Do you not need two programmed keys In hand in order to program a 3rd one yourself?

I bought a shell like that and put the red blob from my wrecked 2014 Mirage in it. That blob of course is programmed for my wrecked 2014 Mirage. I did have the key cut already and I confirmed it will turn the igition tumbler to the start position.

I have two factory keys for the 2014 car, they are original and came with it. I tried the US procedure to reprogram my old key but I'm certain it didn't work. I'm also pretty sure it's an ETACS setting as the ignition switch hardware between the US & CDN models is the same, I think.

Here’s some of the menus I got to with my scanner
    Attachment 16421
    Attachment 16422
    Attachment 16423
I didn’t go Into any further than that.

So are those the settings imbedded into ETACS? If they are it explains the CDN. key issue, I think.
