How much offset should I have if I want my tires to come out of the body line about half an inch? I don't want to get spacers, but I want a wider traction pattern.

I bought a set of used Honda Civic rims for snows that are 13" x5-to 5.5" that ranges from 35-42 for 1982 to 00 and 35-38 for 1991 and earlier models, couldn't find any legible marking on the rims but I think I should be Ok.

Edited to add; just looked it up in my owner's manual the factory rims have an offset of 46 mm so it looks like my winter rims are a bit shallower, may put a bit more stress on the bearings?
