The best part is that my dealership service department appears to be a totally normal bunch of guys. They obviously let me get under there and take the pics and talked about it realistically. The tech admitted that he could put a camber kit on it and probably get it green as is but that he didn't think that was the right way to proceed. They quoted the Mitsu price on a strut (over 3 bills LOL) and then said they could get the KYBs from Auto Zone for $110.
So I will end up just putting the struts in like I planned to do and then getting the alignment done. I will try and unmangle the metal bits until I can find a local parts car to pull from.
All in all, I'm just relieved that its not a rear beam and worse than it is.
