    Fingers Crossed!

Well... I was browsing the local dealers website and noticed they had a $69 coupon for a 4 wheel alignment that expires at the end of the year, so I thought why not get this new car checked out before I go and put new tires on it.

It has 4 different tires on all 4 corners and the RF is showing some indicators of a potential alignment condition so I’m kind of concerned... we shall see!

Well... there’s good news and bad news.

The good news is, the rear axle doesn’t need replaced.

The bad news is that I bought this knowing it had some front end damage, but the impact damage is worse than I hoped. Nothing too bad, but gonna need some stuff.

The RF issue is due to a slightly bent strut. Was going to replace those anyway... Luckily it doesn't look like anything else suspension wise is bent. But the shocking part is how mangled the sheet metal parts are under there. Both inner fenders and rad support are roached.

The best part is that my dealership service department appears to be a totally normal bunch of guys. They obviously let me get under there and take the pics and talked about it realistically. The tech admitted that he could put a camber kit on it and probably get it green as is but that he didn't think that was the right way to proceed. They quoted the Mitsu price on a strut (over 3 bills LOL) and then said they could get the KYBs from Auto Zone for $110.

So I will end up just putting the struts in like I planned to do and then getting the alignment done. I will try and unmangle the metal bits until I can find a local parts car to pull from.

All in all, I'm just relieved that its not a rear beam and worse than it is.
