    New Wind Noise

    2017 Mirage ES:

Just this week, I started hearing a high-pitched and very annoying amount of wind noise from the driver's side. I cannot figure out exactly where it's coming from. It is a whistle.

I know it's a bit vague, but has anyone else developed this?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure. I know my Mirage whistles on the highway, and it's worse depending on the speed and weather conditions. I have read a few reviewers who note the annoying whistling in Mirage's, so some whistling is normal.

And I mean quite a lot of whistle noise at times in my 2014 Mirage, since day 1. If you think it's a door that isn't snug than that's something else.

Does the noise change if the window is opened a bit?

Yes I too have observed the noise from passenger side on highway when I was clocking 70+ speed. But not always. So it apparently is caused by the wind flow. thanks

My 2019 has a load of wind noise but I attribute most of it to my universal aftermarket roof-rack.
The whistling comes and goes just as dspace9 pointed out. Wind and weather make a huge difference. I've actually had such bad headwinds at times the entire roof sounds likes its vibrating from the wind going around the rood rack. Once I've made a turn and the headwind is now hitting the side of the car or at an angle, that's when I experience the whistling more than ever!!

    No.

I did notice that some of the weather stripping just above the mirror is a bit puckered for some reason. It's in the area circled below (generic photo). I will probably bring it in.

    Random thought:

You think you can write an article about how the CVT7 seems to holdup better in the Mirage vs the Spark & Versa? It'd be nice to have something to link on youtube. Considering Im knee deep in the propaganda war for subcompacts and JATCO CVTs. Just a thought for a new article, I enjoy your writing and yes I know you own the 5speed version lol.
