We then test drove a Toyota Corolla after that. The car cost a couple thousand more dollars, had something like 30k miles on it and it drove like a dream.

If all you ever ride in is stuff like Mitsubishi and Kia products, I suppose the Sonata would feel like a dream car. To me, I could tell instantly that it was poorly made. Mom isn't a car guy, and even she agreed after comparing it to a Toyota.

She's had her 2015 Corolla for almost four years now. Its still as solid and fresh as it was the day she got it.

    Huh

I had a very lengthy post done up about what sales tells the customer versus what service should be able to tell the customer, but I unfortunately just can't post it at work...

    Will try to remember later.

I wouldn't take a Hyundai for free. My experience with two fairly low mileage cars left me stranded multiple times with a no-start but no-code situation. I gather this issue plagued Hyundai over several models spanning several years.

    No thanks
Zero, 2014 ES Plus 5MT, written off but not forgotten.
Zero II, 2014 SE, 5MT, climate She's HOME now!
    Shelby AKA "Cute", 2017 ES 5MT, A/C.

Mirage owners look at the world differently than everyone else, but in a better way
We're driving the Beetle of the 21st century, the greatest small car now available!

We had 2 share the same drivetrain if I'm not mistaken?

What kinda hyundai left you stranded? 02 Accent, 85 pony?

I'll give almost anything a try once. Except for bum darts and schnoodling kinda things. Wife has had kia's for years with no problems, they share the same drivetrain if I'm not mistaken?
Are the Mirages that froze up back and running?

That's quite an assumption on your part, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I would put Hyundai/KIA just behind Toyota/Honda myself. I'm way more impressed by Hyundai/KIA than the Renault/Nissan/Mitsubishi Alliance. I like my Mirage, but it's the only new Mitsubishi that I would still consider buying today. I only buy manuals, however.

If I was shopping for a new vehicle (excluding pickup trucks) today, my time would be spent looking at Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, KIA, Mazda, & that is about it! I wouldn't hesitate to replace my Mirage with another used Mirage, however.

    He sure is.

I agree with Wallythacker - I'm not a big fan of Hyundai & Kia. This is drawn from experience as a family member owned one and it was both problematic and expensive to repair.

Like Subaru, they are enjoying a bit of popularity.

There may be a reason for that?

Likewise, I think there is a reason Nissan is tanking financially.

What would you choose for a pickup?
