I'm going with my 1966 VW Beetle. The crumple zone is the spare tire & the fuel tank..

I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything

I wish I could get my hands on a brand new 1985 Golf Diesel. These were made before regulations made diesels ridiculously complex and expensive. Mine didn't even have a catalytic converter. If somebody was tailgating me I could activate the chemical defense system by flooring it which produced clouds of smoke but little acceleration. I lost mine to a nice lady with a death wish that pulled out from a stop sign directly into my path.

The AMC Eagle is another car I wish I could get my hands on!

My evo IX. I bought it within 2 days of being in AIT in the Army. I mean its not as crazy as most of the stuff listed here but, most people think its just a family sedan with a stupid wing thrown on it.

It was love at first sight.....and the flame still flickers. It was some consolation that my parents did buy a new 1989 Swift GTi, which is what I learned to drive stick on.

I value my garage space to store other junk to much, but I would love to borrow someone's 1970's VW Thing (4-speed manual/46 hp) with orange or yellow paint. After tooling around in it for a time, it would make my Mirage seem quite powerful.

My uncle's got one, he fully rebuilt it and restored it himself.... I remember when I was over at his house 4 years ago and he was on the "wiring stage".... I never knew a car could have so much wiring and harnesses until I saw that car... Last I know he's driving it across country now. Too slow for my likes.

I had several of these diesel VWs, including this '81 Jetta. Biggest problem I had was with the fuse boxes.

That's interesting. I had a friend I deployed with who purchased an Evo VIII (Either a VII or VIII) within days of us getting back from Iraq. Wasn't the Evo VIII the first version sold in the states? I assume he couldn't have gotten the VII imported due to it's newer age, but this was GA and I don't know if the 25 year rule was a thing in 2006. I took a couple of pictures with my crappy flip phone.

Edit: I just noticed the URL on the front: evolutionimports.net
