It might be helpful to know that this group of owners grew from wanting to learn more and more about these little cars when they first hit the market as the automotive press was pretty harsh on it. But as more owners shared their experience, the fear mongering fell away.

It's a pretty good car for what it is, so long as expectations are in line with a cheap city car.

Yeah, when I was looking at options this one kind of stood out to me. I looked online and there were a few videos saying it was terrible. It had the highest fuel economy on the lot and most of their complaints were things I didn't care about anyway, so I went with it despite first impressions. I'm glad I did, it's been great so far other than this

If needed, I bought a jug to top off my radiator reservoir. I have no desire to mix different types, even though some companies claim that is ok.

Not all coolants are the same these days. I would use what is recommended for a Mirage engine.
That's likely what I'm going to go with. I'll do a couple flushes with distilled water to get the old stuff out and then fill it up with that.

In my opinion it looks like that leak isn't coming from the water pump but rather from between the engine block and timing chain case. The water pump bolts to the timing chain case and the timing chain case has sealant between it and the engine block where the coolant flows from the pump impeller on through the engine. The bearing weep hole is close to the pump bearing behind the pulley and the photo doesn't show any evidence of that. I took a photo of my engine in that area and all I can see is the seam where the timing chain case clamps against the engine block. This is only my opinion going by the posted picture.
