    P0441 p0171

I have a 2015 with only 439060km/272819miles in the shop with the engine light on. P0441-purge solenoid and p0171 running lean codes stored. Driver complained about it being hard to start after fueling up sometimes. This car had the lean code months ago, changed the maf sensor, didn't spend much time looking at it but haven't heard any complaints til now.

I activated the purge solenoid using a scan tool and couldn't hear or feel it clicking. Grabbed one off an engine I have on the shelf, plugged it in, did the same test and you can hear and feel it click. I'm assuming this could be the cause of the lean code as well. It's easy to remove but looks like a pita to reinstall, it mounts to a plate on the lh side of the head with barely enough room to get a wrench between the plate and head. Will post pics later.

Post an update when you get it figured out. Based on what I've read, the valve is usually the issue. Which is good because I don't know where the charcoal canister is on a Mirage. Some of those can be a bear to get at.

    For those who are curious...

Charcoal canister is easy, under the spare tire.

I wonder if a purge valve stuck open is causing dspace9s evap system codes...

He had a small leak detected code I thought. That is possible. Could be the vent solenoid too. Though I don't think he every actually posted the code... Just for shats I checked the hoses at the charcoal canister, the only one that felt loose was the one coming off the vent solenoid. It wouldn't have made the light come on, it's just a hose that goes to nowhere.
