Honestly most shelter cats aren't good pets in my experience. Many are just too feral and will never trust humans, leaving you with an unloving eating/pooping machine that cost you money and you get nothing in return. My ex had 2 females black n white cats that were exactly like that and she was content with the situation. Not me however. Over the years and many cats (and dogs) I've found the most affectionate cats tend to be male tabbies,
neutered very early and exposed to people very early. If you can find that at a shelter your lucky, we were with Mr. Sprinkles. I dont put up with no cat that isn't friendly and outgoing. Temperament is everything. Persians, Ragdolls, and Turkish Angoras have the best personalities, but your talking big $ to get one.
