Ideas for an air dam for intake tube

I had just finished building a brake cooling setup on my friend's Mazdaspeed 3 road race car. The inlets were 3D printed funnels. I was doing an oil change on my Mirage today and I got thinking about applying something similar to the Mirage intake. I remember reading another thread here with similar ideas. Would be a great way to practice my CAD skills.

That’s a great idea! I’ve thought of doing the same thing on my Outlander Sport.

Little bit of progress. This part will probably be 2 pcs because of printing space limitations.

I finally had some time with the 3D printer. Turns out the warping is pretty terrible without a heated printer bed.

I might try to install this thing on the car soon and take measurements of air pressures in the air box. I've always been curious as to what type of "ram air" effects are actually attainable.

What I'd really like to do is take air pressure measurements in the intake manifold. My Mirage is just begging for a turbo.

Unfortunately, these pieces are just sitting on my bench collecting dust. I've been up to my balls in overtime at work. Ventilator parts demand is through the roof. Also busy AF at my shop prepping customers' cars for racing as well as getting tons done on my race truck. I'm sure I'll get back to this project as things slow down.
