An individual can be infected & contagious with SARS-COV2 without showing symptoms. Like a modern-day Typhoid Mary.

Masks aren't gonna be 100% effective. Nothing will be. Go shopping or pump gas and you could catch it. I think the point is to try and minimize risk. I was annoyed when people started wearing them back in the spring but now numbers in Alberta are the highest in Canada. The numbers I read don't look like a 98% worry free outcome anymore. There's a pretty good chance I even have some unknown health issues? I haven't been to a doctor since I was in an epic quading accident years ago.

Masks suck, I hate wearing them but do it anyways where I'm expected to. Wearing glasses sucks too, I wear them cause I have to as well. Try being in the cold! Glasses fog up when you come inside without a mask, throw a mask on and things just get more sucky.

All I can do is complain and hope things get better. If I could pack up a camper and head to the mountains for 6 months I'd be there already, damn mortgage, job and other responsibilities

Is it bad that I forget to take off my mask when I drink water and end up spilling water all over myself?

Been there! Coffee is worse though - leaves stains.

I can't believe it. I was going to post a joke about it but I'm too late:

I wonder if they have to get oiled before use...

Edit: either that's a tattoo in her ear or it's filter oil smudge haha.

I wear a mask when I'm supposed to, just to coddle the germophobes because my opinion is that masks are not very effective. However, if I'm sick, I'll hide away in my basement the required time. But, for my personal health, if I get it, I get it.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for thinking on my own. But, if I'm not sick, how am I am a risk to others? And if I am, and I stay quarantined at home, how am I a risk to others?

Experimental and epidemiological data support community masking to reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2.

When do you go to the grocery store or any place where it's crowded, you should wear one to protect yourself from others. You could be asymptomatic. Like others have said, it's not 100% protection but it does protect you from getting it easier or, if someone does have it, its less likely to travel.
