Hopefully they get the vaccine out soon. Virus is out of hand here.

They do have a one-timer vaccine for polio now of course, as well as whooping cough is every so often. I have had the same doctor since birth.

Or same doctor's office. So I am 100% up to date with my vaccinations. I got whooping cough vaccine again not long ago, after like 20 years. I think diphtheria and polio vaccine is a one-time thing. Not a doctor lol.

Downside for all vaccines are, the COVID19 virus mutates just as the common cold virus, the flu virus, etc. Currently there is much discussion about how long humans can be protected from any corona virus by any vaccine. The bets suggest around about 12 months maximum protection.
Correct. But they will certainly be very happy to sell you a new shot each and every year!

Avg age of covid death is right at or slightly older than the avg life expectancy of human beings, so that demographic should get a vaccine if they see fit. I will take my chances with the 99.8% survivability rate. And that's saying something as I'm not a gambler. I have never purchased a lottery ticket and don't visit casinos.

I assume one of the anti mask arguments is that even though there have been mask mandates in place months ago covid numbers are still going up every day. I see both sides. It seem pretty divided, like the recent election.

I don't have to worry about the vaccine cause it'll probably be years before it's available to the public here. I assume/hope that by that time it's no longer a thing anymore. Either that or there'll be something new to worry about lol

I haven't gotten the flu shot for as long as I can recall. Didn't get a chicken pox vaccine. We all got chicken pox in elementary school then got over it.

Polio was a scary one, since it hurt kids most, iron lungs and the such. Kinda opposite to covid nailing the coffin on seniors. You can't see germs lol. If you don't vaccinate your kids they have no place in public school as far as I'm concerned.

Anyways the Great Cornholio I am gonna end up stirring the pot again... so I guess at least I didn't start the methamphetamine thread!? Not sure how I got the spelling right there the first time, with that five syllable word.

I know about polio, my grandfather had it as a child. Was lucky to survive that!
I'm not taking sides on the vaccine debate. Opinions are like a55holes everyone got one. I could care less what people think about mine.

Yea and we can all agree to just want 2020 to be over, and hopefully some things can go back to normal. I guess not though. Good thing I flew to Alberta last year and did my Rocky Mountains trip. Hopefully Canada and Iceland can become a flying bubble and I can visit Iceland's hot springs like I was suppose to.

Mass COVID19 vaccination shall commence from 15th of December 2020 in my home town of round about 25 000 inhabitants.

I am grateful to those in charge who have succesfully organized a vaccination site and all the necessary procedures.
They know very well if they would have refused every single meeting with experts for months and rather gone golfing instead, they would rightfully be accused of mass murder or have been lynched.

One thing I am glad about during this pandemic is that I live in smalll town Canada. Sure you get folks who don't believe in germs, but at least you don't have to ride the subway with them.

Plus the crazies in cities is way worse. In a small town you can spot them a mile away. We have a guy in my town who walks down the street wearing a superman outfit. And he doesn't talk. Like a mute I think. But he looks at you really intensely with green eyes when you see him around town. Small town is keeping him safe, and small town is a good lifestyle for me as well. What's good for the goose is good for the gander so to speak.

dspace9 - I don't think it's that people don't believe in germs. I believe it is that they are not afraid of germs. Because, in a lot of cases, a person's body was conceived, designed and manufactured to be able to survive the ingestion of germs and survive with minimal or no downside via the use of an immune system. Said immune system was installed at the factory. Those people who have a fully functional factory installed immune system don't let the fact that germs exist have any effect on their lives. So they live free of the concern about a germ here, a germ there, oh my God spray Lysol everywhere!

Good point although there are situations where a germ can be a real threat such as a transplant or intensive care unit. I say this without sarcasm to point out that though the majority don't have to concern themselves much with infectious diseases there are many who do and they don't think it's a joke at all.
