They sell frozen Skyline Chili at Publix so I might give that a try.
They sell the cheese and hot sauce, too (well, Meijer does). It's all part of the experience.

99.5% + survivable? And people are running around like it's certain death if you get this little bug.

I've seen some insane stuff in life, this is not one of them. This has been propped up by the media and the paid for scientists.

Masks are a total joke!!! And the words "social distancing " should give you pause. Wouldn't physical distancing be a better choice of words? There is a reason behind that, probably a bit outside the scope of this thread though.

It was always obvious as to why this little virus has been propped up for so long.

In the beginning it was about "flattening the curve" and not to "overwhelm" the hospitals, now it's all about the silly cases. There is enough data out there but most people choose to get their news from Facebook or the media. Good stuff.
Do you have links that support the 99.5% survivable?

    Masks do work.

    found this on Reddit:
How are other countries succeeding with declining infections while the USA is on a rise?
Look at South Korea, who had the first case of coronavirus reported on the same day as the US and South Korea only has 377 deaths so far. South Korea has a population of about 51 million so the US has close to 6.5 times the population of South Korea. But the US has 202,213 deaths so far, so the US has 202,213/377 = 536 times more deaths than South Korea, despite having a population that is 6.5 times the population of South Korea. You can bet this ratio will rise in the coming weeks because it's out of control in the US while South Korea has it under better control, despite South Korea having a higher population density than the US.

I haven't followed up on CDC and WHO on their findings but it seems like people that have under lying conditions are more susceptible to getting hit harder than most. A friend's aunt just recently past away from COVID19 when she caught it from her father from a family gathering.

As for the mainstream media, I only follow local news. Nationwide news from mainsteam media, it's obvious they want to stroke your emotions lol so I stopped watching/listening to them. There are plenty of reliable resources out there instead of watching a anchorman/woman read something from a teleprompter lol. Right now, I think it's best to listen to actual legitimate professionals in the battle with COVID19 instead of listening to a "Karen" that thinks she knows everything because she read a random blog.

It's 99.5% if you're 50-69. The survivability rate is actually higher if you're younger.

CDC Releases Updated COVID-19 Fatality Rate Data

A quick summary of COVID-19 survival rates is shown below (according to the CDC).

    CDC COVID-19 Survival Rates

    Age 0-19 — 99.997%
    Age 20-49 — 99.98%
    Age 50-69 — 99.5%
    Age 70+ — 94.6%

Another recent CDC finding... Only 6% of COVID-related deaths were the result of COVID alone. The other 94% had, on average, 2.6 co-morbidities.

In other words... If you're an otherwise healthy person under the age of 70 and you don't live in a nursing home, you have nothing to worry about.

    Thanks Top_Fuel

I feel like COVID19 is a much stronger strain of the 'flu'. Then again, I'm not a "professional doctor"(haha) to make that assumption. I'm still wearing my mask any time we're at a area where there is a crowd.

And yeah, that's what I'm thinking too, if you're 'healthy' and you don't have severe under lying health conditions, you should be okay but you should still take precautions of others too.....pretty sure those people that do have under lying health conditions want to go out and about without getting infected and getting worse from it.

I don't know what to make of it. I'm sure there are a lot of numbers out there that aren't very accurate. I'm sure everyone's heard about people in a car accident being classified as dying of covid making the numbers seem higher than normal so hospitals could get more magic covid funding?...Maybe just a rumor, who knows...

From what I could gather, 1.5% of people who had contracted covid passed away with an average age of 83.

74% of those had 3 or more previous health conditions, 18% had 2, 4.7% had 1 and 3.1% are listed as having none.

So basically 3.1% of 1.5% of people who tested positive covid passed away and didn't have underlying health conditions. So the death rate of healthy people who had covid in alberta is .046%? 8 people died with no underlying conditions, 17,343 cases so far in Alberta...But if I get a cold I have to stay home for 2 weeks....

I get the elder and those with poor immune systems are very vulnerable but I think there is something else going on. We don't go on lock down every flu season.

I think I'll choose to get my information about COVID-19 from somewhere else.

I recommend others do the same.

Not trying to be rude, I just wish people would leave things they don't have any insight or knowledge on to people who are properly trained and educated in certain fields, like Epidemiology.

I didn't say you were *incorrect*, just that interpreting that data is best left up to people who understand the ramifications.

1% of the world is still 75 million people.

But yes, your risk of death is very low unless you have comorbidity like Diabetes, Obesity, Heart Disease, the list goes on.

Boneless chicken wings help address the issue of people choking on chicken bones, but I am with you on this one Dirk!

Boneless chicken wings are really chicken tenders or nuggets!
