    Shark Style Antenna

Decided to try one of these functional shark antenna,
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/323913579462.

Easy to install, have had one for a month and multiple car washes and is holding up well. Reception hasn't seem to be worse either so that's a plus.

Very nice, but the 'carbon fiber' look seems like overkill on a Mirage!

Opinions.. opinions. I've always loved the look, on any car. Besides, the 2021 will have the look on the interior door handles, so I'm already of the curb.

But how does it work, especially compared to the factory antenna?

Honestly, haven't had any issues. There's two tunnels I go through everyday, and the reception in those isn't any different than with the normal mast. So far, no complaints.

In all seriousness, though, it does look great!

Does it just screw on like the original, or is there adhesive?

3m Double stick, similar to most body moldings or vent visors

How does the original come off? Stuck on with 3M tape?

You unscrew the antenna mast, screw in the antenna lead from the shark antenna, and the shark antenna fits over the old base. This literally takes 5 minutes, if. I just made sure I heated the tape up with a hair dryer before I attached it to the shark antenna, then heated the car and tape before applying it to the roof.
