hitch cargo carrier for Mirage - could you hit on grond when going up hill?

So I am still busy making my progross on living in Mirage, I find one thing I need is a hitch cargo carrier to put my personal belonging so I could sleep in Mirage with more space.

but will it hit to grond if I go uphill? some street got 31.5% grade in SF

where do you think I can have it installed?

    thanks for help

UHAUL will install their hitches, but I would get a quote first.

I typically buy my hitches from etrailer.com.

Depending on the vehicle - I install them myself, but I've had local small town mechanics install them, too. It's usually an hour labor for them.

I don't have a hitch on my Mirage. I hope someone else addresses the 31.5% grade question. I would recommend keeping your brakes in good shape for those hills, however!

I am still hoping there's a time when you don't have to worry about sleeping in your car any more. Not judging, just caring. Hang in there! Stay safe & healthy!

thank you I hope you stay healthy as well.

on uhaul it says it's a class 1 hitch, but a cheap carrier from https://www.harborfreight.com/500-lb...ier-66983.html says it Fits all standard Class III / IV 2 in. receivers

do you think if I need a stonger hitch other then the one from uhaul or I just need other kind of carrier?

our shipping is getting slower and slower, last week I order item it was 7 days, and now I buy on Amazon it will not be able to delivery until April 21, and I can petty much predict there will be more infection and finally bring down the our system, I am looking for a fastest option to get this installed before everything is down.

I have the CURT one on amazon. It is significantly cheaper than uhaul and sometimes cheaper than etrailer as the prices fluctuates (I had problems with etrailers customer support). It was an easy self install with a few basic tools. It has never hit ground with any grade not that I am sure if I have been up 30% plus but some hills in PA are pretty steep and it had no problem. Not as sure about your cargo carrier I guess that is dependent on how big it is.

The hitch might be okay, but the cargo carrier might be a problem. Those are some steep hills.

Stay healthy, keep your immune system up.

Whew...I forgot how crazy some of those streets are! What happens if you have a hitch carrier sticking off the back and you get to the bottom of this hill...
