Mad City is the worst dealership experience I have ever had. No one else is even close. I have never seen such horrible/sleazy practices. I am not surprised by this at all. I don't go out of my way recommending Mitsubishi products in my area, because of them. If I hadn't discovered a dealership like White Bear Mitsubishi, I wouldn't have a Mirage in my driveway.

I wish Russ Darrow, Don Miller, Zimbrick, or one of the other big names in the Madison area would take on Mitsubishi brand as their own. Mad City is not a place that I care to do business with. I've used them for a test drive, & that's it. I was interested in buying a Mirage. Once they realized I had my finances already in order, I was treated like I had plague. Probably shouldn't say it that way given the current status of the country. The bottom line - they weren't interested in selling someone like me a car. I saved approximately $3,000 OTD at the time buying elsewhere.

I halfway wonder if Mitsubishi will kill their franchise over this? That would be downright hilarious.

Visit their website and this is what you see first -

Earlier this week, Mad City Mitsubishi agreed to accept a temporary suspension of its dealer’s license, to resolve an enforcement proceeding brought by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, which stemmed largely from the acts of two former Mad City employees. The business practices employed and decisions made by these former Mad City employees clearly were disfavored by DOT – and could have harmed customers, financially, if abused. However, there is no evidence that their actions financially harmed any Mad City customer.

Mad City elected to resolve this matter cooperatively with DOT, rather than pursue resolution in court. Mad City’s owners will use the closure period to improve dealership operations and customer experience, and to avoid any similar situations moving forward.

We thank our loyal customers for their overwhelming support and assure everyone we will enhance our sales process to further our commitment to our community. Thanks again for your continued commitment as we look forward to serving all your transportation needs now and in the future.

    Sincerely,Pat McNamar

Ooooh they changed it! It used to say it was closing for the safety of customers and staff hahaha.

Well, I guess I better figure out what the hell to do about my engine replacement. Techline approved it so I'll have to call Mitsu customer service on Monday to see if they want me to take it somewhere else or something. What a mess.

You can't look at the Mad City inventory without giving them your personal information first. Once they have your email address and phone #, they will harass you via emails, texts, and phone calls. They are relentless in their effort. They have employees (professionally trained harassment specialists) that do just this. It's the most annoying thing I have ever experienced in car shopping.

Visit their dealership & you can't talk to one of their sales people without giving them more information. Unless things have changed, I wasn't allowed to talk to a salesman without giving them my driver's license and filling out a form. I was drilled by the business manager before I was allowed a test drive a Mirage even though I called ahead & made an appointment to do so.

Quite frankly, they seem ticked at me, because I demanded their OTD price before visiting them. Once they realized I didn't need their financing to buy a car from them, they weren't all that interested in me. I had more interest in the Mirage then they had selling me one. In my opinion, it's a very sleazy/creepy dealership. Even their ads on the radio are annoying!

Like I've said many times before on this forum. I used them for test drive. If LaCrosse had a Mitsubishi dealership, I would have headed the opposite direction for a Mirage test drive.

If there is a good/great Mitsubishi dealership in Wisconsin, I am not aware of it yet. Despite all this, people do buy vehicles from Mad City. Mitsubishi has a a decent product (good value). It's their lack of good dealerships that's holding back Mitsubishi more than anything in my opinion.

Personally, I would go elsewhere if I were you. Either way, the world is on hold. I know people who had surgeries scheduled that have been put on hold. You'll get your engine replacement some day.

Yeah, I thought about it. However, I'm trying to be nice because I want to take the Rockford Fosgate sound system out of my old car and it seemed like the service writer dude might let me since they just use my old car as a loaner car haha. I guess I'll see what Mitsu says on Monday and go from there.
