Ok, here's what I found at Toyota's UK website:

    Engine power (BHP) 257

    Power-to-weight ratio 4.9 kg/hp

Don't forget front & rear Torsen limited-slip differentials.

Seeing is believing! Where's Chad? Maybe this Yaris has more comfortable seats than his Mirage.

PS: I wonder where Road and Track get their 268 hp figure? I can't find it, and they don't cite their source.

The Toyota Supra (which is built in Austria) came out last May (2019). Toyota sold 2884 of them in 2019. Many are critical of the new Supra, because it's a BMW in a Toyota wrapping. Lack of a manual offering in a high performance sport car is also a concern for some.

Like the article mentions, the 2021 Yaris GR is more of a Toyota creation. Despite that, I still don't see it being very popular here. If it is never brought here, Toyota may feel the same way?

Toyota has been known for making practical (almost boring), reliable vehicles. It seems like Toyota has been trying to veer from that image in recent years.

1280 kg's? Kinda portly for a hatchback, at least to me. I'm sure GTi's an VW R's are weighty, as well.. probably the AWD system and luxuries in the interior account for the increased weight. Still, almost 300 hp in a less than 3000 llbs vehicle isn't bad.

1000 lbs heavier than my Mirage ES though. Toyota hides it well!

I bet my former 1990 Ford Festiva (sold 1988-1993) doesn't make the list, but I would not be opposed to buying another one today!

Maybe? They were designed by Mazda, built in Seoul, South Korea by KIA, & sold by Ford. The 1990-93 ones received fuel injection. They had some quirks, but mine never burned a drop of oil in 14 years. Every tank was above 40 mpg gallon. Simple maintenance keep them running. We are talking about a very simple 2-door car here. It's was the automatic seat belt attacking you age when you started the car. No A/C, no power anything, no remotes. I can't think of a single extra. Two speed wipers even (slow/fast). The base model didn't even come with a radio or speakers.

It makes an entry level Mirage look like a luxury hatchback today.

If a car like the Festiva sold today, & it was a couple thousand less than a Mirage, I would surely buy it. I like the seating position & handling of the Festiva better. I am not knocking the Mirage. I like my Mirage, & I hope 15 years from now I feel the same way about it. I feel that way about my former Festiva 30 years later.

Overall, I am not surprised to see many former Festiva, Echo, & Metro owners on here. Some still own those older cars & now have a Mirage, too. These vehicles are great daily drivers!

I'll let you know for yourself, here is the web link: R & T's site was freezing earlier, but internet traffic is crazy busy right now.

I know of one Fiesta around 15 minutes away from me in the country actually. You don't see them often these days. More common than a Topaz though!

To Eggman: it sounds like with car sales being down, the new Surpra is a big flop, then. Supra made in Austria eh... hmm that is cool, suppose to be a nice place to drive your motorcycle.

Toyota, stick to boring cars and update your truck line one day please, though I like their dated truck line a lot more than any other manufacturer.

We're not going to get the GR Yaris as a Toyota Spokesman said. The GR Yaris is different from the US Yaris which is based on the Mazda2 now. Completely different designs.

There's two Mitsubishi vehicles that made the list of 1990's dream cars.

Yep, the 3000 GT sports coupe, and the EVO II from 1994. I guess the Eclipse isn't in the "dream car" league, but I wanted one in the 90s.

Aston Martin DB7 made the list and that's a beauty. Where is the Mazda RX-7? Those are great collectibles now.
