Nooooooo! How many miles? You for sure it's the CVT? You got a 2014 so check the manufacturer's date. Its before 04/01/14 your cvt might be different making it more difficult to outsource a used one. We're not 100% sure about that on here though it might be some minor alteration that means you can still put a used CVT from any year in it. Did you do the preventative cvt maintenance every 30k? Not judging just trying to get a feel if it truly makes a difference or not.

Calm down Dirk. I said I haven't had time to check anything out yet. LOL
And yes, after my other issues with it, I'm wondering if I should have bought a Yaris. Was looking at the Hertz website last night.
If this keeps up, I might have to go back to a Geo Metro. I have 3 left. 😊

Thread bump. Got out my Autel MK808BT scanner and hooked it up. "Unable to communicate " it says. Well try some sign language at least, I says. Tried it on 3 different cars, same thing. Just sent an email to their online help place.
    Update at 11. Or not.

    Finished

Finished up late last night, took it for a drive and....... praise God, it seems to be good! It drove normal and no CEL (except for "historic fault". Not sure if that will eventually go away with normal driving?).

Thank you to everyone for the tips, advice, knowledge and for helping me think outside the box when I was still hoping it wasn't the transmission! This forum is a great asset! A shout out to fummins also......he is a great asset to this forum!

I will keep you informed if anything with the car should change.

From what I can tell, the computer keeps a log of certain codes or faults until you prove to it that the problem has been fixed?..... for things like so you can't erase a code to be able to pass an emissions test. I read that cars in 2009 started adding this feature. But it sounds like if you drive it for a while without the problem it was having, it will clear itself? Or I believe a more expensive scan tool can erase them? I tried a couple times with mine and no luck. On my readout, instead of the fault being in a red box, it's in a green box with a green checkmark and it says historic fault.
