Thread: Side Skirts

  1. #21
I'm sure someone from the philippines posted pics of their car that didn't come with rocker mouldings. It was also missing the plastic trays next to the rocker mouldings. I've torn a few rocker mouldings off that were hanging down. Some drivers kick snow off them and eventually the 2 sided tape lets got and they pack with dirt and ice. They're held on with thin 2 sided tape along the top edge, a few philips screws and a few plastic clips. Removing them will leave a bunch of nice holes in the rockers.

    Rockers, paint.

Mine were full of dirt. After I paint the rockers with a foam brush I'll put in rubber grommets to seal it off. I used a chalk line to get a even line and I cleaned and got painter's tape put down. I'll paint tomorrow and show pictures of the result. From the rocks and debris flying up and hitting the rockers, I'm thinking about custom making mud flaps out of plastic guttering stuff. I'll see what I can come up with. Keeps me busy.

Nice gas cover! Mine is custom made. With aluminum sheets. Removed the pull cable. And it open and shuts with velcro. Oh yeah, I'm cool hahaha. Was it worth saving 1.2 pounds and learning how to fabricate metal and whatnot? Absolutely! I am learning to custom make everything out of aluminum sheets made out of aluminum gutter downspout. One thing is the heat shields. I've made a custom battery mount too.
