Mitsubishi in Auckland were just under NZ$320 - for 15K service very comprehensive service plus provided valet and borrow car.

    Woohoo....4.7/100 km [50 mpg US / 21.3 km/L] on latest 260 km trip.

I think that's the best I am going to achieve.

Did not exceed 90 km, generally round 85kmh average' lots of coasting in neutral when able. 95% motorway 5 % city driving. Auckland to Hamilton return. So quite a few hills.

Did notice the noise on the course seal is quite high. But maybe that's because there's very little wind or engine noise to drone it out.

Has anyone else thought that the AC. doesn't get very cold. Will have it checked at first service.

I haven't achieved better than 4.9/100km but generally sit in the 90-100 range when traveling regularly from Kaitaia to Whakatane.
What I have noted though is the best economy seems to be on the motorway stretch from Puhoi to the bottom of the Bombays [have to time the run through Auckland to avoid congestion]. I haven't isolated this stretch yet but may do one day. I have climate control AC but haven't used it - just turn the fan to 3 or 4 and give the AC a burst occasionally. This works for me as the temperature is rapidly reduced. I think a check of your AC is warranted.

Best run so far - car reported 4.4 L/100Km [53 mpg US / 22.7 km/L] for a 50 min run through Auckland (mostly motorway). I tend to run at 100 Km/h.

Most surprising run 3 adults plus aircon plus luggage on a 130 Km trip north of Auckland (very hilly) still averaging as close to 100 Km/h as possible and still managed under 4.9 L/100Km [48 mpg US / 20.4 km/L]. The car is still on it's 14" 165 LRR tires.

Received bill from Archibald Motors today - $240.00 for service which included a car wash.
jid - you are achieving very impressive economy figures - are they close to your overall average or special economy runs.
What fuel do you use? - so far I have always filled up with 91 usually Caltex.

Went for a run yesterday. Open road, pushed it a wee bit.

Don't like the handling at all. Even starting to think I made a bad decision buying the mirage.

It wallows round corners and generally feels very unstable at speed on anything but a straight road. And I'm not talking excessive speed.

So the handling and the constant steering corrections to maintain a straight line, make for very fatiguing driving.

I guess I had much higher expectations of a new car having come from a 1996 Toyota starlet with 270,000 km on clock. I never once felt that that car was going to lurch me into a ditch or on coming traffic.

Is it any wonder its so easy to get great economy figures as it just feels a little too scary as u approach the speed limit.

I feel I now have pay money to take the car to a suspension specialist just so I can have the car I expected in the first place.
