Thunder Bay, but that's only about 50 miles closer apparently.

Someone made the comment it feels like a franchise opportunity here..

    Good actually!

Much grippier than the stock Enasaves that came on the car, and I haven't noticed an appreciable difference in fuel economy. Performance in the rain and snow is *way* better than the Enasaves, which was my primary goal, that and good on gas.

The wear so far has been good too, went to Montreal last summer and added another 15-20K on the odometer and they still look like they have plenty of life left in them.

I'd like to try a summer tire and see the difference in handling, but they seem good enough for me!

I have been near Wisconsin, but never in it... I have family in Michigan and they live in the UP in the summer so I have been there many times, same drive as a kid and then driving myself. So far to drive along I75, but "my" private beach of 25+ years of visits sure is nice.

I may have been in Wisconsin the time my old Escort broke down, but we were in such a kerfuffle and trying to get back to the cottage, that I couldn't tell you for sure. I told my bro in law before we left, my car won't make it in the summer heat, and I was right.
I live/teach in SW Wisconsin, but I grew in NE Wisconsin (very near the border of the U.P.). My parents are still in that area, & my brother works at a large ship yard that's on the mouth of Menominee River (goes into the waters of Green Bay). The Menominee River is the border between Wisconsin & Michigan in that area. I love going to the areas of Marquette, Munising, Mackinaw City, etc. during the summer months. My Dad grew up in the U.P., until he was 12. The grandparents moved the family to Wisconsin to start a small dairy farm. My parents live there now, but the days of milking cows is long gone there. My grandfather worked in the iron mines of Iron Mountain, Michigan until they closed when he was a young man.

I think most of us owned cars like your old Escort at one time. It's probably why we appreciate our dependable little Mirages so much!!!!!

Good to know, thanks javensbukan. I did a little bit of research earlier, and I found out my local Fountain Tire dealer carries them.

Always good to hear real world, first hand experience. I'm good summer tire wise, and I have enjoyed my Bridgestone Potenza's. I am looking for an upgrade for the winter. Summer tire wise I have dunlops I found on kijiji cheap, barely used.

Mark, the UP area is probably the area of the USA I'm most familiar with. So it's definitely one of my favourite places to be. Not sure how much longer I'll be going there... with the way life changes... and family members get older and downsize. Never did care for driving across Mackinac bridge though I love it there.

I had never heard of Krown because it didn't exist in the States. For some reason I remember reading about it when I got my Mirage. Fortunately I was able to find a dealer about an hour from me.

The guy who did my application let me stand in the bay with him and he showed me everything he was doing. It's such a great concept (that actually works) I don't know why it hasn't caught on here more quickly. If I buy another new car, the first place it's going is to get a Krown application.
