Hello DirtGearTv and welcome to the forum. The dune buggy sounds like loads of fun. You'll have to tell us more about it - do you have any links to the project?

Thanks! I just added "Squirt" to my garage. Its a 3A92 I3 built dune buggy with 5 speed and MegaSquirt fuel management. Always a work in progress but I have a Youtube channel with more info on the build

Can you imagine the fuel economy on that one? Doesn't get much simpler. I'll bet that would climb those Driftless Area hills of yours haha.

What a fun use for the 3A92.

Hey DirtGearTv, that's really cool - definitely one of the exciting points here on the Mirage Forum! I have heard people use VW motors for helicopter engines.. so I should have seen this coming.

    Hell, yeah!

I'm a fan of this silly little engine. One of the things I wondered was how much Mitsu's high-tech engine management factored into the drivability/flexibility of the engine.

How's it run with the Megasquirt? Which MS do you use?

Are you controlling the VVT with it, or ignoring it? If you've explained all this on some other forum already, point me to it!

I keep seeing stupid old cars that look neat and are cheap... and would be nifty and FAIRLY RELIABLE cars with a Mirage drivetrain swap.
    Simplify and add lightness.

Awesome project! I was waiting for somebody to do a swap like this. The 3A92 is pretty much apocalypse-proof, and should serve you well.

We have logged hundreds of thousands of miles here, and I am not sure anyone has had any need to take one of these engines apart yet.

    Very cool project!!

Did you pick the Mirage motor because Chevy Metro 1.0L triples are getting harder to find??

(Reality check: people are probably looking for 100 hp twin cam G13 1.3L DOHC Suzuki motors over the 55 hp G10 triples ... I sold a Suzuki motor to an ultralight airplane builder just a couple of years ago.)
