MPG with Windows cracked vs closed, A/C off

Anyone else notice gas mileage much higher with three windows cracked (driver front, both passenger)? My dash seems to indicate 3-5 mpg higher on average with the windows cracked 1-2 inches vs closed, with A/C off. Sometimes more, but I attribute that to wind and driving habits.

Yes, running the AC or Defroster will result in lower mpg's. It's affectionately known as the "Power Reducer Button" in case 78 hp was getting out of hand.

No, I'm referring specifically to the windows being cracked, vs not, ac off in all cases.

I gotta try this. I usually keep windows open on one side of the car or the other for air circulation inside the cabin. I'll try both rear windows. Should be able to see the difference on my OBDLink app.

That may have the opposite effect, but it's worth checking out. I usually drive with both front and one rear open, for the same reason. Gets it circulating really well.

I misread my post too. Edited it to say lower, then realized it was correct before I edited it. :/
