New tire/wheel combo for the G4! Weight reservations.

Hi gentlemen! Well I thought I'd try and stimulate the economy and slap new wheel/tire combo on my lady's G4. Total weight 30lbs per. Her old Potenzas and stock steel OEM wheel weighs 27lbs. That's an added 12lbs overall. I dont mind losing some mpg, but will it be a noticeable difference in engine power, handling, tire noise and anything else I should look out for? I went with economy brands, Vision Cross alloys & Barum Brillantis2 tires. Total bill $645. I feel this is fair. Thoughts otherwise?

They raised the price on those Barums. I paid $37 per. Now they're $50. I read mixed reviews on Vision Cross wheels too.

Fummy, will this help or hurt with handling? Also they assured me they can handle Mitsu tpms sensors. I'm not holding my breath lol.

It'll make it faster but the cvt will blow up.

I don't know if you'd notice a difference. Aren't you using that same tire on yours? I still have my winter tires on, gotta swap the 1/2 worn stockers back soon.

Good point. I love the Barums on the OE steelie but its mounted on those small 14 x 4.5" wheels. These new alloys are 5.5". I'm sure it ain't nothing but I'm no expert. Hence I'm speak to the Oracle. You fellas.

I've read several reviews saying they go out of round for no reason, but that may be operator error. I've been looking at konig, and used rims on ebay. Not impressed with the ebay offers, mostly because I don't have the tools to refinish a rim and after that it'd probably cost the same as new for most.

Out of round? Meaning they dent easily?
