    Question Valve Cover Removal

    Hi All,

I just want to ask if there's a rubber gasket once removed the valve cover?

Any guides or picture how to remove it?

I removed one just to take a look. If I remember correctly there was sealant instead of a gasket. Remove the coils, and the bolts holding the valve cover then pry it up. It was glued down pretty good.

I lied, there is a gasket. I just looked it up in the service manual

IF you don't have a service manual, download one. There is a gasket that seals the valve cover. I sniff too many diesel fumes.

    Here's a link to the 2015 manuals http://mmc-manuals.ru/Mitsubishi_Mirage/en

There are also three little "rings" that seal the openings around the spark plugs.

The gaskets are a long lasting sort, I would consider replacement after ten years or so, but not in a five year old car.

When undoing /doing up the bolts, do it as if you were doing a head gasket, from the middle outwards in circles.

Make sure not to over torque the valve cover bolts!
