So you took it in today and it's already fixed?!? Or are they ordering the part?

    That's cheap.

I lied, there are 2 clips and 1 screw holding that plate to the cover(shown in the above pic). The screw faces rearward so gotta pull the cover to remove and install it.

I called yesterday asking if there were warranty coverage; they asked me to come in today so they could look at it. As it happens they had already ordered the parts for another Mirage and they used them on mine. Replaced, under warranty, today.

Yup, and I krown rust controlled my Mirage every year. This is the one spot that seems to have rusted out on my car.

The 17+ design is different. I specifically examined some of the new Mirages at the dealer a few years ago. Looking at this thread, I see I can replace the part. In theory, as Mitsubishi parts websites are mostly USA only.

So, this part is completely shot on my 2014 that has lived its life in salty winters. When I say completely shot, I mean darn near all of it is non-existant. Its just gone.

Looks like I'll probably have to print up a part so this won't happen again.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't make this out of plastic to begin with, its lighter and cheaper. Better yet, mold it right into the rear bumper...

I suspect my Mirage will rust away before I wear it out, too!

Our good buddy on the forum Mohammad did a you tube clip on changing this bulb this week -

Has anyone installed one of these License Lamp Brackets?

    I found the part online.

Mine is rusted out too, but is still solid. Flakey but solid. Pretty much the only rusty part on my Mirage tbh.

Since Krown application missed this part, when I replace it, my plan is to oil it myself with a spray can.

instead of wasting your time with oil coatings, just coat it in a spray paint. nothings hitting the part, the paints not going to chip away.

@mark I appreciate the recognition. It means a lot to me.

@daox since its literally rusted to nothing do you think you could maybe install the replacement using only the plastic clips without the screw to save yourself from having to remove the bumper cover?

This is my V1 fix. It was slightly too long, the lights were a bit too far back, and the lights should be mounted 180 degrees from how they are. The locating pin interfered since I forgot to make a hole for them.

I'm printing V2 now. It shouldn't rust now and it pops right into place with the plastic clips.
