I started a Toyota search and found a 2011 Corolla with 107,781 miles, one owner, good Carfax maintenance record, for about $6000 (before taxes and registration). Normally I try to stay under 60,000 miles for a used car but Toyota is supposed to last for awhile, right?

Your paying the Toyota tax always because of its reputation for reliability. That Corolla could last another 150k miles. Hopefully it's not beat to hell on the inside though.

2011 is a good year for those Corollas. I had a 2009 that my dad still drives right now with over 200K on it and it's flawless.

Ill give my 2 bit here. My wife has a 2014 Nissan Versa Note S - Its been a good car thus far outside of the muffler falling off (very little rust). The shifter solenoid going out (400 plus dollar repair). Other than those things its been normal service oil changes and CVT service. I drive a 2019 Mirage G4 - Thus far its been a solid car in less than two years I have drive over 30k. Its been solid it starts every time. Between the two I like the Mirage better, the versa is faster but other than that they ride about the same. I like the seats in the Mirage better and the mirage gets way better fuel economy.

IMHO, a car with 100k on it is only as good as all of it's previous owners were. A friend of mine has a 2014 Corolla S and she has beaten the sh!t out of it. That said, Corollas are great cars. My mom bought a 2006 new, 14 years and 60k later she has had almost nothing go wrong with it.

That Corolla may be a decent car...but it's still a 9 year old used car with 110K miles that costs $6K.

I don't know what your budget is, but for another $2K you could buy THIS essentially new Mirage with lots of extras and plenty of warranty left...

I know this car is not exactly 2 blocks away from you, but often times the best deals are not in your back yard. I drove 12 hours to buy my Mirage and I have never regretted it.

That's a manual though right? I think OP wanted an auto. I agree though when I was shopping for another vehicle I had 2 choices, my 2014 Mirage w/45k miles on it or a 2009 Yaris with 120k for the same price. I took the much younger car.

Remember the 2017 Mirage with 28,000 miles for $7000? I finally heard back from the seller. I got the price down to $6500. Car seems good, except a dent on the front fender. Seller said a car backed up in her car at a parking lot. I have a pic attached. How much do you think this damage will cost to repair, just so I can negotiate the price further? I also came across a 2013 Yaris with only 36,000 miles for $7000. I know the Yaris is a better built car, but this one is a 2 door which I'm not really a fan of.

I found a grey fender that might be the same color. Attachment 18264 $160 http://www.bargermattson.com/

    Found one that's closer(maybe) that show's as being silver http://recycler.car-part.com/TurboTeam/ $80.

It looks like car-part.com is now showing an interchange for some parts but it also looks like most of the wreckers haven't updated the part numbers in their systems. That could take a while, as they have to do it manually.
