Oops, I did it again! Bought another cheap Mirage "beater".

I just bought another as-is Mirage that was traded to a new car dealership.

Top trim 5-speed. PLUS winter tires on steelies! PLUS aftermarket hitch! PLUS factory body kit! PLUS rain deflectors. PLUS all the chromed plastic bling you could throw at it! Talk about gilding the lily.

Regular readers will recognize this car from the cheap used Mirages thread -- it was advertised at this dealership for nearly a year. Started at $5500, eventually lowered.

Oops, forgot that tidbit. It's got 147,000 km = 91k miles on the clock.

That's almost exactly what my first beater Mirage had on it when I bought it. It's a bit higher than average for the year, but sitting parked at the dealership for a year helped lower the average! And I won't be using it until winter, so it'll look like almost normal mileage for a 2014 by next year.

Why am I not surprised? Looks like one of those over $20k Mirages (back in '14) with all the extras. What a deal!

Yeah, this one's got it all except CVT. It's like the buyer sat at the salesperson's desk and ticked all the boxes!

I can't wait until these things are a dime a dozen. Kinda like Neons were back when they still existed. I stuck a V6 in one once, I wanna do it with a Mirage too. Name: FB_IMG_1592422907024.jpg

They may not get to Neon levels of price per kg, but they are definitely headed that way.

For those of us south of the border - $2,900 Canadian = $2,136 USD.

A great deal does make a car more enjoyable! Congrats!

Wow! I would've bought this car to drive as my winter beater. I haven't had a manual transmission car since 2010 so something like this would be great to have.

Well worth your effort to keep checking on the price. Enjoy!
