Suspect fired through windshield at Pasadena police in video of fatal shooting

Officials released footage Tuesday, June 23, of an officer-involved shooting that happened in May and resulted in the death of a man seen firing a pistol through his windshield at Pasadena Police.

A shootout ensued after officers used a PIT maneuver to immobilize the Mitsubishi Mirage of Lloyd Nelson Jr., 47, of San Diego, on May 8, and was recorded by dash and body-mounted cameras.

Footage shows the car collided head-on with a police vehicle. Within moments, the suspect is seen aiming a firearm apparently at officers less than 20 feet in front of him and unloading two rounds before exiting through his driver’s side door

The Mirage pops up in all kinds of crime videos it seems. Alot of ballers on a budget.

It certainly wasn't outrunning anyone lol. I wonder if those explorers for police have the 3.5 tt 365hp EcoBoost in them? My parents have one and they do move.

    Crime 101 test question:

Which of the following scenarios isn't going to end well:

    a) Running from cops
    b) Shooting at cops
    c) Using a Mirage as your get-away vehicle
    d) All of the above

All the police cars I've seen had base turd model engines. Mainly n/a v6's in explorers, taurus' and chargers.

My friend told me the other day that Crown Vics (like the cop car to the left in that photo) had an explosive gas tank problem.. just like the Ford Pinto.

So, ram the back of an old cop car hard enough, and kaboom.

Maybe newer Crown Vics had this problem fixed? And FYI, Crown Victoria's were built in Ontario.
