Seller said wheels are in good shape. They look so in photo (how do I know if the color won't peel like the ones I have?)

How do I know if they're lug-centric and not hub-centric like Mark said?

One tire is supposed to be starting to show wire, the rest looks ok in photo to me. Seems like they can have 20,000 miles more?

I think I can get the price down to $200. If the other tires are ok and I have to replace only one tire, plus installation, plus lug nuts, and maybe plus hub rings, should be less than $350. Also an option worth considering.

Personally, I wouldn't pay much for your wheels, because they are painted black. My friend bought a used Camry with black painted wheels (done with a spray can), and they look like crap. The paint is rubbing/peeling off all over the place.

I would not recommend replacing one tire out of three. A year or two later - Are going to replace 3 tires instead of all 4? I don't hesitate to buy tires in pairs for the front or rear, but I would never replace one tire (unless I found a use one that matches the others).

How can you tell they’re spray painted? In general, should I avoid non-silver alloy wheels? For instance, those Vision Cross wheels in grey.

Check on www.car-part.com for junkyards by you. Maybe someone has the stock sized wheels and tires for cheapish.

    Just wanna clarify some info...
I can use both 165/65r14 and 175/65r14 on the car.
175 is easier to find but reduces mpg.
165 gives best mpg and is better in rain and up hill.
Is there any other advantage/disadvantage between 165 and 175?

165's are what comes with a new Mirage. At least the base ES models. I find when I enter "Mirage" and "2014" on any tire website, 165-14 is what comes up for my ES Mirage. So, I have stuck with that, and always gotten really great MPGs. You're never gonna be driving the Indianapolis speedway with your Mirage, so might as well get the tire most designed for your Mirage. People will say the GT comes with 15 inch tires. Still I would start with 14 165's. Maybe a set of used ones, but beware they wear out fast so look closely at the thread.

165 isnt better in the rain or going up a hill, its better at one thing, mpg and maybe cutting through snow, but the 175s are a small tire too. The 165 Federals seem like a good value, but Im more confident with potholes since I switched to 175s.

You're not going to detect any mpg difference between a 165-65-14 and a 175-65-14. Just choose the size that works better for you. Any decent 14" wheel/tire combo is going to be an improvement over what you have right now.

Definitely go with one shop if they can put everything together for you (wheels, tires, mounting, balancing, TPMS sensor swapping). If you buy someone's used junk off of Craigslist to save yourself a few dollars, it will probably end up costing you more down the road.

I would consider having that shop dismount your existing tires from the wheels. You may have better luck selling the wheels separately from the tires.
