Need help with beetle rear springs.

I know this topic has been covered numerous time before but I purchased 2003 Beetle rear springs Moog 81055 to have a little stiffer springs in order to carry 4 people without the rear sagging.

I tried to install them today and they are too tall -- could not get the shock bolt to line up. I know folks have installed these spring successfully so I'm not certain if they shipped me the springs on accident. Or am I doing something wrong here? My car is 2014 not sure if that makes a difference.

Any thoughts? Should I return these to Amazon and try to get different year Beetle springs? Please advise.

i believe that other members have used 1998-2006 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE F1.4/R1.2 lowering springs.

I thought regular beetle springs would work and not lowering springs.

The lowering springs are roughly the same height as the Mirage's just much stiffer since the VW is a way heavier vehicle.

Ok didn't realize it has to be lowering springs. I guess I'm returning these springs to Amazon. What others options do I have?

I'm confused .... i've seen several post where people used regular beetle rear springs and the didn't have any issues installing it. Not certain why the springs I received are too tall.

A member has used Yaris rear springs with success. Here is the thread.

I tried a set of regular Beetle springs from a junkyard and found them too tall - my rear shock absorbers were at full extension much of the time. They fit in the spring seats. I returned those springs and went back with my stock set.

I also tried a couple sets of springs from something else - some Yarii I think - they didn't fit well in the spring seats so I gave up on those too.

Despite some claims here on the forum, I cannot recommend Beetle springs. Maybe if I found a lowering set, it hasn't been that important for me to pursue.
