I love that we use the same size tire as a Can Am Spyder
My search says the Can Am uses 165/55-14, not 165/65-14. https://can-am-shop.brp.com/on-road/...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

Another place has tires for $106. https://revco.ca/kenda-kr20-kanine-c...4aAg9FEALw_wcB

So if you want to experiment buy these, inflate to max (44/51psi) and see what kind of mileage you get? Would that even be legal in anything goes North America?

Would these skinny things be the ultimate mileage/winter tires?

Maypops in my era were BF Goodrich Radial TA on steel chrome Cragar mags. They were Maypops because everyone spun them to the cords before even thinking of replacing them.

I believe Cam Am uses both sizes. If your Cam Am has 15" front wheels, they may use the 165/55r15 (22.1" outside diameter). If your Cam Am has 14" wheels, they may use the 165/65r14 wheels (22.4").

Basically, the same width & diameter with both. One just has more rim & less tire (sidewall).

Mark, what do you think of tying Can Am tires on a Mirage? A smart for two guy did it and he loves the tires, it's in the comments sections at a tire place.

My original tires. This is with 74,3xx miles on them. I hadn't planned on changing them until 75K, but a shop I deal with needed a spot weld cutter so I let them use mine in exchange for letting me use their lift and tire changing equipment.
So far the MOMOs are doing well. Noticble ride improvement with the added tread. Seem like a soft compund probably due to the 3 peaks symbol. I expect they will wear out faster than the OE Falkens. I accept that as we will not be driving the Mirage nearly as much going forward as we did in our first few years of ownership. MPG does not seem to be affected. We have about 3,000 miles on the MOMO 4Run tires.

74,000+ miles on the Falken tires is quite good! Thanks for sharing!

STEVEDMC got silmilar mileage out of his OE tires according to his profile.
    "175/65-14 82T Falken Sincera SN250 AS All-Season (80k mile warranty - Replaced at 78k miles)"

    175/65r14 Falken Sincera SN250 A/S tires have a 720AB UTQG rating & a 80,000 mile warranty.

Your 165/65r14 Falken Sincera SN250A A/S tires have a 320BB UTQG rating & no warranty.

This led me to believe the 165/65r14 factory tires made for a Mirage are not the same tires at all. They surely aren't rated the same by the company.

Steve's Falken tires were NOT factory tires. His car would have come with factory 165/65r14 Dunlop Enasave tires. He jumped up a size to run 175/65r14 Falken tires on his Mirage.

165/65r14 Falken tires didn't exist when Steve drove his Mirage.

    I see what you mean.

I read his "replaced at 78,000 miles" to mean he had 78K on the odo.
I missed the fact that he had 175mm width which were not an OE size on a 14" wheel.

Despite all that, I am still impressed with the mileage you got out of your 165/65r14 Falken tires. I will be curious how they performed for other members with newer Mirages?

Instead of 165/65r14 (22.4") & 175/55r15 (22.6") tires, North American Mirages should come with 175/65r14 (23") & 185/55r15 (23") along with 5" wide rims. The last two sizes are identical in outside diameter, & they are much more common in our tire market.
