My local Mitsubishi dealer might've lost its mind......

While waiting for my fast key remote to be programmed, I looked at the new Mirages on the lot and they have a $4k dealer markup on most of their 2020 Mirage. Total for an LE is $21k and and SE is $22k.

Normally, you would see that extra 'market value adjustment' sticker on cars people ACTUALLY WANT!

Do people buy cars like a Mirage at window sticker prices?

The 2020 MSRP price range between all 4 trim levels in CVT (ES, LE, SE, GT) is $2000 in the States. It's been that way for a few years now. $15,295 to $17,295 is the price range for 2020 (CVT only)

I wouldn't expect to pay any more than $10,000 ($11,000 OTD) for a brand new Mirage ES manual this summer. Those who qualify for the extra rebates (loyalty, military, &/or VIP) could get a new Mirage for even less.

I paid slightly less than 66% window sticker in 2017, & I don't see that being much different in 2020. Nothing on my window sticker reflects what I actually paid for the car, however.

For $1,501 more, you could get a 2020 Honda Fit LX CVT (MSRP & destination charge) with 130 hp verses a Mirage ES CVT (MSRP & destination charge). A highly discounted Mirage, however, is a different story.

I bought a Mirage because they were selling under $10,000 OTD brand new in 2017. If a Honda Fit had been anything near that price in 2017, I would have one of them in my driveway. This is the part that is miss by some car critics of the Mirage, but I also blame that on lame Mitsubishi dealerships.

A Mirage must be affordable, reliable, & economical to appeal to me. I really like my Mirage a lot, but I would not pay a lot of money for one! Getting a good deal on a Mirage is part of its charm!

Obviously no one pays window sticker but my point was the ridiculous $4k markup.

    Wow, that's quite actually insane.

An almost fully loaded SE is $18473 CAD (13748 USD) at my local dealer currently, without any discounts or promos applied.

We have had someone state they paid over $20,000 for a Mirage OTD a few months ago.

$4000 markup is silly. Maybe they added an air freshener or something?

Funny thing is that this dealership has probably at least 60 Mirage on their lot.

Dealer locally had Mitsu plus other franchises. They seem to hold inventory and not sell. Seems they were happy really screwing 1 out of 9 as 8 would walk away... They have one franchise that sells Subarus that does well... The others not as much...

Since they closed one other Mitsu dealer locally which was way better to customers anyway.

I suppose they think there's a sucker born every minute.
