    Well Guys....

It's been fun. A few months ago I got rid of the Mirage for a Focus ST. Wanted a bit more fun while still getting OK Mileage. I gave the Mirage to my mom and it currently has about 211k miles on it. She will drive it until it literally falls apart. I'm selling a few things still. May just scrap the old engine and trans if noone wants it

It was good guys thanks for all the help.

Congrats on the Focus ST. I hear they're really fun to drive. Very connected to the road.

Hopefully you'll check in with any updates on the Mirage if anything happens with it. Glad it worked out well for you!

How many more miles do you think your Mom can get out of it?

After 211k, you don't owe the car anything and the car doesn't owe you anything. Good luck with the Ford...sounds like fun!

The car is still running great I wouldn't be surprised if she got it to 400k with regular maintenance.

Im happy if I can get 150k miles out of my cvt. Lol. Im just not used to it. For a split second it feels like it slipped but then I realize thats how it feels.

Rkt Shp - sad to see you go, but thank you for the info you've posted over the last few years.

Hopefully you'll come back to post any updates/major odometer milestones -- yours was one of the highest mile Mirages on the forum.

    Have fun with the ST!

Let me know before you send the old drivetrain into the scrap yard. If nobody else wants it I might be interested to mess with it before it gets turned back into soup cans.

Someone should get the transmission to cannibalize for a custom taller 5th gear!

I know of a Metro owner who machined the factory 5th gear set smooth (then ground the teeth off both gears), then milled the center out of the 2nd gears, and welded them into the 5th gear hubs. Reversed their position (input shaft gear onto the output shaft and vice-versa) and voila, lopped a whole bunch of top gear RPM off.
