    Beautiful! Thanks for the shots!

How did the car perform climbing up steep mountain passes?

You need second gear on really steap climbs. But it was a nice drive over all.

Wow beautiful country side, like The Sound of Music. Is the Hapsburg family still around in Austria?

    Wonderful scenery!
I'm often near the Großglockner, the Zillertal, and in South Tyrol near Bruneck, Toblach, Cortina d' Ampezzo, the Drei Zinnen (Tre Cime di Lavaredo), and also on the other side of the Alps close to Villach, Austria in Kranjska Gora Slovenia (Krain, Oberkrain) and just about everywhere inbetween.
I am often there and lots of other places during winter covering winter sports with a TV OB truck or two plus tender and crew transporter. Sometimes for the ORF. Usually I would need to get to a certain town which is often an adventure in itself to reach, then go way up the mountains on roads closed to the public all year rond, and all that in winter, and not one single vehicle has all wheel drive!

This year's vacation couldn't take place because of personal reasons, but usually vacation is in the Kranjska Gora or Bovec area. Thats the region of Europe with the highest level of bio-diversity, practically no industry, lots of bears, wolves, many almost extinct plants, steep and high mountains, streams such as the Soca, etc.

If you want to, have a look in google maps and look at the photos of some of the places from in the first post and from this one too. Thats where most foreign tourists usually want to go, but never actually reach.

Is that a 4 season tent? Have you considered a swag tent? They roll up about the size of sleeping bags but the canvas material keeps the inside warmer.
