I agree, there aren't many around. Things have been a gong show for the last 2 or so years. My buddy just bought a new $80k Silverado a few months ago, the heated seats don't work because(allegedly) they didn't install a harness from factory because of parts shortage(the flu?). The dealer promised they'll install it and have them working when parts are available. It has the buttons on the dash but nothing happens...https://www.detroitnews.com/story/bu...es/8593376002/
I wouldn't want to buy a new vehicle then have some flunky at a dealer try to jerry rig the wiring after the fact. Nothing ever goes back together the same, guaranteed some piece of trim will get damaged and not noticed til months later.
Even when I stated "where are the 2022 Mirages" yesterday, I didn't realize it was as bad as it is.

If I do a 250 miles radius search for a new Mirage on cars.com, none show up. I am not using my typical manual transmission sort either. There are zero new Mirages of any type listed within 250 miles of me.

If I do a 500 mile radius search, a few come up. One is a bit overpriced in my opinion, however. It's listed at $99,999, & I find that bit high priced for a base model especially!

At $99,990, I would consider something else over a Mirage.

Plus, it's listed from a Chevy dealership. It may not even be a new one???

Kelly Blue Book tells us that there will be a 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage, but my question is "where are the 2022 Mirages?"
There are plenty of other vehicles that threaten EVs more than a Mirage. So my doubts are on that gobment theory, but I'm guessing you said that half joking.

Where are the 2022 Mirages? That is a good question. My guess is, that it is a financial decision. Mitsubishi (and all OEMs) will have to focus their output on those vehicles that generate the highest revenues / profit. While I'm guessing the Mirage is profitable, the revenue could be on the low to very low side. So, maybe they're focusing their effort (production) elsewhere. Perhaps smaller OEMs get bumped way down the priority list to get chips too. I'm sure if Toyota wanted to, they could throw their weight around and get way more chips than other OEMs. Perhaps they are doing that, dunno. I'm not in that field any longer.
