I'm basically waiting on some funds to buy a spare engine to mock up the turbo manifold.

I imagine you know of this website but I figured I'd pass it along just in case - they have great prices

$260 for the engine (114K mileage) , $300-ish for shipping depending where you are.

Oh man, those are awesome prices. Unfortunately I'm in Canada and the fees, taxes and conversion to Canuckistan Pesos would hurt.

I'm looking at about $600 cad locally, which is not bad for a 45 minute road trip.

All you really need to mock up a manifold is the manifold gasket and some measurements of the space you have to work with. Right?
    Simplify and add lightness.

I'm just going to swap the whole engine in with the turbo and everything already bolted to it.

I have to take into consideration intake, and discharge piping routing along with turbo orientation and where the downpipe is gonna route. I'm also going to fabricate hard lines for coolant and oil feed. The idea is to modify as little as possible on the car. I'm hoping to make more of these kits and sell them if there is enough interest.

Some small progress. Got the inlet tube for the turbo and some ebay chinesium bling. Just dropped $1000 for a custom torque converter for my race truck, so no engine for the Mirage..... yet

Some more progress. Finally got an exhaust manifold gasket to make a CAD drawing out of for laser cutting an exhaust manifold flange. I think I'll be going with 3/8 stainless. Currently waiting on a quote from my supplier. Also going to order some bends to weld the manifold out of.

Slow progress, but the laser cuts are in. Still gotta order some 1.5" bends to start making a manifold.

Some of the piping is in. Just about time to 3d print some elbows and play with some ideas for manifold fabrication.

    Patty,
. . . . How is it going on the turbo build? I am interested in putting on a turbo and running about 8 psi of boost!
