Just had some turbo parts land in my lap!

Being in the forced induction business, I just had some turbo parts land in my lap. 2 turbos from a 1.8T VW/AUDI, and also an AEM FIC. These would work well in a turbo Mirage. I'll have to get the turbos cleaned up and at least inspected internally. Not sure how soon I'll be installing these on the car yet.

The turbos look to be in working shape. I will still disassemble and make sure they're good internally. By my math, I should have full boost around 2500rpm with this size of turbo, which is a reasonable rpm for a NA bottom end. Will post some more pics in a bit.

Found a small intercooler that might fit, however I think I'd like to find an OEM solution.

Nice pick up mate. Is the AEM FIC capable of running everything you'll need efficiently? It's just for fuel and ignition yes??

The FIC will clamp the maf and map sensors, offset the o2 sensor signal in boost, retard the ignition timing, and control the extra injector I intend to run for extra fuel

More progress!! Got the correct wiring for the FIC, got a boost gauge, intercooler, wideband O2 gauge. The turbo was disassembled, cleaned out and reassembled. No internal damage or anything like that. Looks like these turbos like to seize up at the wastegate flap, and the dealership will just replace the whole thing. Win for me!

I notice engines are starting to drop in price. I'll be picking one up sooner or later and I can start fabricating a turbo manifold. Quite possible, the exhaust housing and manifold will be one piece to help with packaging.
