There are some cars on that list I'd really like to try. Forbidden fruit!

Our auto markets are so different. Fiat 500 is number 2 on their list, and only 3,267 Fiat 500 vehicles total were sold during 2019 in the States.

Mirage has way more competition in Europe. I like the upright looks of the Fiat Panda. Rather than wedging the Eclipse Cross between the Outlander & Outlander Sport, something different like the Panda would have been more fun!

Our Fiat is called a JEEP!

It's because in Europe you can get the Fiat 500 with a 2-cylinder engine. I'm sure that's why they're flying off the lots!

And that's the car I'd most like to try.

I have an uncle that use to be very frugal with his money. He had a 2 cylinder Honda N600 for a time when I was a kid. I don't remember anyone else ever having one. Most 2-cylinder vehicles in Wisconsin these days are called Harley Davidson, & most guys pay more than a Mirage for one.

That's impressive considering that European small car market competition is fierce. The VW Polo Diesel would be on my list.

This makes me so jealous, also sad about the state of small entry level cars in US & Canada.

I would quite literally donate a kidney to be able to buy a Peugeot 108 (and it's siblings), Renault Twingo or a VW UP!

But instead we have 37 small SUVs to choose from with stupid names that aren't really SUVs at all (just in price).

If Fiat would have sold some normal looking cars in North America like the Panda / Tipo instead of just the 500/L/X it might have been different, but *shrug*.

It is quite literally a SEA of Honda CR-Vs & Toyota RAV4s and F-150s where I live, which is good I suppose as the CR-V and RAV4 are assembled in Ontario, so hurray?

Shout out to Mitsu though, I do see quite a bit of RVRs and Outlanders around, despite all the press in the US about "Nobody buying them" and "Mitsubishi is totally dead".

FYI the number 3 in the list (toyota Aygo), number 8 (Peugeot 108) and number 9 Citroen C1
are practically the same car made in the same factory, there are only few marginal differences and the outer looks are similar but also different.

I also own one of those mentioned above. It uses about 10% more fuel. The insides, the engine compartment and also the luggage compartment is terribly cramped compared to the Mirage. The suspension is much harder, a real bone shaker. The 1KR-FE Toyota engine is good, and also the Aisin manual gearbox. It being very similar to the Mirage and also has the same gear and final ratio. The clutch plate has stronger springs, which is good. The rest of that car is not worth mentioning in my opinion. I definitely should have gotten something else as a second car, maybe an old Panda! With a Panda I could tow 800kg, with the Mirage or the C1 I am not even allowed to put a tow hitch on, not even for a bicycle holder!

    I wondered about that.

Also, I wonder if the Kia and Hyundai are essententially the same car. (Their entry level & compact cars are basically the same here in North America.)

The Picanto and the i10 certainly have similarities, but I wouldn't call them the same or nearly the same.

I have pity with the future owners of a Twingo. Thinking of their repair bills!
The VW up is certainly a decent car and it has a slow depreciation, but the prices were out of reach for me. They asked somewhere around €12 grand for an up, but the Mirage cost me only 8 grand.
