    IIRC, we determined that the '14-'15 rear drums are unique to the Mirage while the '17-up drums are shared with the Lancer?

    Front brakes on these are easy. I did mine a week or so ago and it only took me about half an hour.

    Are they're any advantages to drums at all? More durability etc? Or are they archaic and only cheap for the manufacturer but expensive for the consumer?

    IMHO here in the salt belt of Ontario, the drums are much more durable as the brakes are somewhat protected from the elements. When I worked @ a Ford dealer, rear brake jobs on rear discs where almost as common as oil changes, especially on the pick-ups...
    I didn't know what to do, so I didn't do anything
