Hi everyone.
I have a 2013 Mirage and while following the DIY guide for installing cruise control I decided to purchase a steering wheel with multimedia remote control (in addition to the CC) and though to connect it to my android head unit.
But after installing the new steering wheel I noticed that the audoi wiring harness is missing the remote control wires.
From the attached diagram it seems that I can wire those directly from the spring.
What do you think? Is that possible? Has anyone tried this?
I looked up for that connector and as you can see in the picture - the plug is not fully wired up, only the horn wire is connected.
Looking at the schemes - this connector also relevant for the cruise control switch so this will be problem also.
Another issue may be a chip clockspring with missing wires.. I'll have to verify that.
I'm rethinking the whole thing.. maybe I'll just give up.
Thank you all
I disassmbled the wheel and the clockspring connector from the wheel does have all the pins.
The clockspring SKU is 8617A012
Does it really have all the needed wires inside?
I'll probably try anyway with the female dupont connectors.
2 more questions:
1 - The illumination wire - by the scheme is connected to the taillight relay, where it is and what is the easyest way to wire it up?
2 - The cruise control switch, by the scheme is connected directly to the engine control module - is that the main ECU?
1. Since you will install audio wires, you can connect it to ill+ of audio socket.
2. The ECM located on leftside front floor, behind snail like cover.
