That can really vary depending on where you live/shop for a Mirage. As we get closer to the 2021 Mirage appearing, it would seem prices would go down some. What's currently out there doesn't seem to be reflecting that, however.

The best deal I have seen in the past couple months is $10,000 for a new 2020 Mirage ES manual @ White Bear Mitsubishi. Knowing how they do business, that car would have been about $11,000 OTD (out-the-door). If you qualified for loyalty, military, or VIP rebates, the price would have been $10,000 minus the extra rebates. $10,000 wasn't offered for very long, & $10,500 to $11,999 was more common for most of the past summer.

White Bear may be sold out of their manuals, & they aren't listing anything near that price now.

Ever person's situation is different. If new ones don't have a huge discount, I would consider a slightly used one & save a few thousand dollars. For example - I would consider something like this -

    https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...4219/overview/

I am just speaking for myself here. A 2019 RF manual was never offered on the market, but this Mirage is a manual (according to the pics). Thus, the stereo system may have been added as an extra? The car really hasn't changed since 2017, except some standard features being added. If buying a slightly use Mirage saved me $3000 or so, I would consider that for myself. If 2020 Mirage ES manuals are selling for $10,000-11,000 new, I start overlooking the used market.

Just a wrong listing there. It's just an ES. No extra subwoofer setup.

If you are getting @20% off of MSRP you are doing fine, but often the discounts on these cars can be MUCH higher. Especially a manual G4.

There is a dealership near me selling new 2018s!

I hate to be "that guy." But there is an existing thread on this topic that has a lot of good info already there. Just a search away.

A few random thoughts on the subject...

If you specifically want a manual transmission Mirage, understand that these are fairly rare. I don't know the exact numbers, but I would guess that 85% of new Mirages have a CVT. I haven't seen a manual transmission Mirage at a local dealership in 2+ years.

White Bear Mitsubishi has traditionally been the dealer with the most consistent, no-BS low pricing of Mirages. You could buy a 2020 5-speed ES from them for most of this year for around $11,500 (some times a little more...sometimes a little less). The last time I checked, they were sold out of manual transmission cars.

Yeah...that's odd. This hasn't been a great year for Mirage sales...and a new Mirage body style will be here in a matter of months. Even with that, Mirage rebates have remained modest and unchanged for the last 6 months. So there must not be an over-supply of 2020 models right now.

If I was shopping right now and not in a hurry, I would consider waiting for the new body style to show up. At that point, you might find a 2020 5-speed at a heavily discounted price. Also, you can bet that White Bear will have a bunch of the new body style in (with 5-speeds)...and they will probably have them for a reasonable price.

If I could buy a 2021 body style in the spring for $1500 more than a 2020 would cost right now, I would wait and buy the 2021.

That's a lot of good info there. I'm in agreement. It is a toss-up which way to go. But I'll put my $0.02 in. Since my idea for the purchase of a Mirage was based on 2 primary things; 1) Low cost, and 2) simplicity of a vehicle & drivetrain that is fading away, I think I lean toward a 2020. Because a) they're going to be less expensive than a 2021, and b) there's no guarantees in life. I think I've read that the 2021s will come with a 5 speed option. But what I've read has been from auto magazines / auto online companies. And they're also the same ones who always state something like "excellent mpg especially with the cvt." Meaning, they get things wrong. We have documented data on this forum that the manual transmission delivers better mpg. That being said, is it guaranteed the 2021 will have a manual transmission as an option? A few more months we will know.

Just a FYI - White Bear was sold out of manuals when I bought mine. That didn't phase them one bit. They got one in in 1st color choice & delivered it to my home. This is why I own a Mirage.

At the moment deals don't look all that great. I would buy a slightly used Mirage at the current prices. I really like my Mirage, but I wouldn't pay a lot of money for one of these cars.

Mitsubishi may have a better handle on how many Mirages are going to sell each year. They may not be filling dealership lots with cars that will only move at very low prices. Instead they may sell them in other parts of the world where people appreciate small economy cars.

That's a great question. I just read through a couple of "2021" threads and there is no official press release that I can find describing the 2021 Mirage specs for North America. Hopefully Mitsubishi won't screw it up by eliminating a manual transmission option...but you never know.

MOTORTREND is predicting the powertrain is unchanged (78 hp with 5-speed manual or CVT).
